"When the Lord saw that (Moses) had turned aside to look (at this marvelous sight), G-d called to him out of the bush, " Moses! Moses!"He answered,
"Here I am." Exodus 3:4

THE INDESTRUCTIBLE VIEW

The View of the Jew
is longitudinal.
His eye sees far back before
the great civilizations.
His eye witnesses their comings and goings
their gods and rites
their culture and law,
Some of which he uses
Some of which he discards.

His eye sees the One
in all things.
His eye never rests, it wanders.
Even in sleep, it sees
the many lands
the many skies
the many gods.
And when it awakens,
It sees only G-d
And man
And truth.

The View of the Jew
is longitudinal.
His eye sees far into the future.
The flow and ebb of the great civilizations
And the small
It sees them all.
